These values fueled her drive to cultivate a career of service to others.
Calyssa received a B.A. in Public Policy from the University of North Carolina and a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan. Over the years, Calyssa dedicated her talents to several professional endeavors including communications for the Detroit Lions, corporate law and grassroots organizing. Calyssa left corporate law to be a powerful legal voice whose work and purpose aligned.
Calyssa understands the fierce urgency of freedom and fights every day on behalf of unjustly imprisoned human beings. She brings an incisive legal mind, Midwest values, and Gullah grit to her liberatory law practice.
